When many people hear the term Information Security, they immediately think of firewalls, antivirus software, encryption, or the IT department working behind the scenes to stop hackers. While technology plays a significant role in protecting an organization, it is only one piece of a much larger picture.
The reality is that people not technology are often the first and last line of defense against cyber threats.
Today's organizations operate in an increasingly digital world where employees access sensitive information from offices, homes, airports, hotels, and mobile devices. Every email opened, every file shared, every password created, and every application used presents an opportunity to either strengthen or weaken an organization's security posture.
Information Security is no longer solely an IT responsibility. It is a shared responsibility across every department, every role, and every employee.
Apt 👏👏👏 any organizations not willing to invest in their human capital are already vulnerable to threats/attacks.
